CSA-Z462 Standard

CAS-Z462 is the arc flash standard being developed for Canada by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The official designation is CSA-Z462, Standard on Workplace Electrical Safety. It is scheduled for release in December 2008.

CSA-Z462 will be based on NFPA 70E, modified for use in Canadian workplaces. The objective is to have a Canadian standard that is compatible with the U.S. Code. Once CSA -Z462 is released, it will be considered a voluntary standard until it is officially adopted by the Federal or Provincial governments of Canada. We will have more information about CSA-Z462 as it becomes officially available.
